The struggle is real

The struggle is real

Happy Monday!!  Today is a real struggle Monday.

I feel like there is a certain stigma with most runners to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to get a run in for the day, especially during training.  I, like a lot of others, work a full time job and sometimes don’t feel like waking up 2 hours before my busy day starts to go run.

All of my life I have been that person who loved waking up early for runs- the quiet, crisp, clean air always made my day a little better.  Lately however I have fallen off of this ban wagon and can’t seem to get back on it.  I pack clothes to run over lunch (even though I often work through lunch) and by the end of the day I’m tired or know the workout will be sub par.  So I tell myself tomorrow, tomorrow will be the day my alarm goes off and I won’t hit snooze. I don’t even have children so I’m not sure how some people make everything fit into a 24 hour day!  I know the answer is to wake up earlier, but sometimes the sleep just takes priority.

I work emergency shift tonight so all bets are off with waking up in the morning for a run/workout, but maybe Wednesday.  Wednesday will be the day!

Does anyone else feel this way about workouts?!!

(Picture fom an AM run I managed to wake up for. Worth it)

  1. Girl….I don’t think there is ANYTHING wrong with getting some SLEEP! The busier we get the more sleep it seems we need. Get less sleep and you will end up being crabby and more difficult to live with and be around. I say….SLEEP and don’t worry about it. Running should be something you enjoy and not something you dread. I personally am against any type of physical exercise…hahahaha. I try to say busy and burn a calorie once and awhile but, I am not the go to the gym and work out person for sure! So get your rest and when have more time you will begin running again. “)
